Peter Mayer is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, touring musician and recording artist in Nashville, Tennessee. With his unique writing style, distinctive voice and virtuoso musicianship, Mayer creates compelling and soulful music for an electrifying live performance. Mayer has released 13 albums to date and tours year round with the Peter Mayer Group. He is the lead guitarist in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and has shared the stage with a variety of artists such as James Taylor, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Ringo Starr.
As a young child in Tamilnadu India (where his parents were Lutheran Missionaries), Peter Mayer had a passion for music. Drawing musical influence from his upbringing, Mayer’s music evokes melodic notes such as music and lyrics of The Beatles, traditional Indian music, church hymns and jazz standards. After moving back to the United States, he went on to study formal theory and composition and taught jazz guitar as a faculty member at Webster University. In 1988, Mayer released his debut album for Warner Brothers Records with the group PM. Working with producer Elliott Scheiner (Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Hornsby) – this album produced the single “Piece of Paradise,” charting to number eight on Billboard.
Mayer began touring with Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer band in 1988 as lead guitarist, a position that he holds to this day. He regularly tours with his own bands, including The Peter Mayer Group, The Peter Mayer trio and Peter Mayer’s Songs of Faith.

Mayer also follows his own musical path with both national and international tours and has released 20 live and studio albums to date. Brendan Mayer, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, has been building a following, laying his tracks in the music world. He released his first album, the “Getaway Car” EP, on Jimmy Buffett’s Mailboat Records, after touring a year with Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band in 2014. He has spent the last months working on his latest release, “Best at the Show,” which is due out this year. He performs regularly on his solo tours.
Brendan and Peter joined forces in 2017 to record their debut album, “Long Story Short.” With both songwriters contributing to the list, this collection of twelve songs showcases the father and son’s unique musical directions that, together, weave a unified sound with compelling lyrics and inventive melodies. The result is two voices turned into one with their bloodline harmony.

Brendan Mayer is quickly gaining attention as an artist and songwriter, with his signature voice and intelligent songs. The son of acclaimed guitarist and songwriter, Peter Mayer, Brendan has crafted his artistry from a young age. A long-time resident of Nashville,TN, Brendan was the lead singer of buzz-band, The Turf, sharing the stage with successful acts such as American Bang and Jeff the Brotherhood. He has also been featured as a member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer band, including as guitarist/vocalist during a four show run at the famous La Cigale in Paris. In 2014, Brendan released his debut album, the Getaway Car EP, on Mailboat Records.
Recently, he and his father have collaborated to release their first album together under the Peter Mayer/Brendan Mayer name — “Long Story Short” — which has received extensive airplay on Sirius/XM Radio. In addition, Brendan has released a new single of his own — “Wrong Place” — to be followed by a continuous rollout of new music throughout 2020.
With an introspective lyricism and engaging melodic sensibility that marries Americana, Folk, and Indie Pop, Brendan creates music that feels like a worthy modern continuation of the classic songwriting tradition.
